This is a very important interview…

…  And a very important conversation.

When I chose to interview Marcella Allison for my Masters of Response interview series, it was easy to come up with things to talk about…

For one, Marcella is an A-list copywriter, working with many of the top companies in direct response.  She’s written controls for Boardroom, multiple Agora companies, and a whole pile of other direct marketers both large and small.

Plus she has a long background working directly with top copywriters including David Deutsch, Parris Lampropoulos, Mark Ford, Mike Palmer, and others.

She’s also an incredible connector and champion of other writers, including me, when I was just breaking into financial copywriting.

Marcella has a ton of experience she can pull from, and a ton of value to give.

But Marcella is doing something else that I believe is even more powerful.

You see, Marcella was at The Titans of Direct Response in 2014.  And she’d heard — and agreed with — the criticism that there were no women on stage.  But instead of just complaining, she decided to do something about it.  She organized a dinner for the influential women marketers and entrepreneurs who were there.

And started a conversation.

A movement.

Titanides — the female Greek goddesses who were the counterparts of the Titans.

A group of women in direct marketing supporting other women in direct marketing.

Then, from the group, last year they did their own one-day event.  And the conversation is building, growing.

We went deep in the conversation.  I asked Marcella to share the story, the why behind it, and what we should all understand about this conversation.

Throughout, you’ll get that.  And there are also much deeper lessons built in about understanding your market, its needs, the conversations going on in their heads, and the power of speaking to that.

And we made sure to cover some of the “standard” topics of these interviews, not the least of which being how to align yourself with A-list copywriters as Marcella has a proven mastery at doing.
