Hey there, I was just browsing through some old videos from Ken McCarthy, and found a gem for you.

He’s the guy that FIRST taught internet marketing — way back in 1994, in Silicon Valley…

Who — for over a decade — hosted the go-to internet marketing education event of the year…

Who taught many of today’s gurus and today’s gurus’ gurus how to sell online…

And Ken is the guy who is best known for no-nonsense, straight to the meat teaching on what it takes to succeed online…

Including this video, covering the biggest danger to marketers on the internet today AND the simple solution…

Go ahead and watch now, and we’ll pick up after the break…

It’s funny, this video was obviously recorded years ago. It was posted to YouTube in 2010. And this was a lesson I know Ken was teaching many years before that.

And yet I still see so many internet marketers today — even so-called “gurus” of doing business online — talking about things like Facebook “likes,” Twitter “re-tweets,” and all sorts of other nearly irrelevant goals that are not a reliable indicator of what it takes to build your business.

Maybe they think Ken’s lesson is from another era. That he’s old like everything he teaches, and therefore not relevant.

They couldn’t be more wrong.

My warning to you…

Is just the same as Ken’s. Don’t get obsessed with the new, the flashy, the shiny objects.

Don’t get caught up in having to have the “latest and greatest.”

It’s okay to be boring. It’s okay to be obsessed with the simple. Get quality traffic. Get it to convert consistently.

Sure, maybe Facebook or Twitter or some other flavor of the day can contribute. But measure it based on these guidelines. Use these to make smart decisions.

That’s how you build a successful internet business — for yourself or for your clients.

It’s also the area where if you develop these skills, you’ll ALWAYS be in demand. As a consultant. As an employee. Even as a partner in high-growth businesses. If you can drive traffic and get customers, you will always have a place in business.

Yours for bigger breakthroughs,

Roy Furr

PS — Ken hasn’t spoken in a few years, and is effectively retired from teaching marketing to all but a very small circle of top marketers (NOT in the Internet Marketing space) who pay him $2,000 per hour for his thoughts.  He’s coming out of his “speaking retirement” though to reveal his latest discoveries and proven methods at Titans of Direct Response.  Time is running out to claim one of the few remaining tickets.  If you’re on the fence, get off it and thank me later.
