Do you, umm, pause a lot, umm, when you’re speaking?
And, ahh, use filler words, you know, like, to fill the silence?
How is that impacting others’ perception of you?
And how is THAT impacting your success?
Here’s a story about that moment where I finally realized just how often I used umm in my speech…
AND…
Here’s a simple trick I’ve used to remove most umms and ahhs and other filler words. So the content of my message can hit harder and have a bigger impact.

Hey Roy
Good to see you on video and, dare I say, looking more comfortable on video too? You present well.
Love the rubber band trick. I actually used this myself, years back when I used to a lot of speaking from the stage. Like you I heard a recording of myself and was struck by the like, ummm, ahhh, yeah, you know…. – it had to go! I used the rubber band for a while and it really worked. Scary, at first, to allow that silence, but it comes across much better then a bunch of filler.
Looking forward to more videos.
Cheers

You have replaced your “umms” and “ahhhs” with “and” as your filler. Put a rubber band on your other wrist for your “ands”.
