For today’s Video Friday, I’m sharing an interview recorded last fall, with a copywriter who figured out a shortcut into the financial copywriting big leagues…

A couple years back, Jake Hoffberg made a couple decisions…

  1. He wanted to write direct response copy for the big financial publishers…

And…

  1. He couldn’t write long copy that could compete in that market…

But, he was a salesperson with hustle.  He figured out what it would take to get in the door.  He figured out what problem these clients needed to have solved — in terms of copy — that their current copywriters weren’t handling, and that he could help with.

The answer was short copy.

And it was his ticket.  Today he makes well into the six-figures working for one of the companies under the megalithic Agora umbrella.  Plus, he’s helping other copywriters take the same path he took.

I interviewed him as part of the Masters of Response series last fall, and I’ve decided to share that interview with you today.
