Apple went to war with Facebook, now Google’s waving the surrender flag…

And within the next 12 months, everything we know about how to create successful advertising online is going to change dramatically.

You’ve probably heard about Apple killing the Facebook pixel on iOS.

Basically, Apple is saying to Facebook, “You can’t track our users around the internet and let people advertise to them based on their behavior.”

And Facebook can’t do anything about it.

In fact, Facebook is set to potentially lose BILLIONS in advertising revenue as a result.

(With small business advertisers taking an even bigger collective hit.)

Now Google has just announced that they’re voluntarily going to stop doing this as well.

So you won’t be able to run Google Ads (or YouTube) to someone simply because they visited your site.

This is effectively the death of retargeting on the internet

Because if Facebook and Google have to stop, that’s the two biggest advertising platforms in the world.

And the rest of the market WILL end up going with them.

The bad news is this completely destroys a huge chunk of online advertising strategy, as it exists today.

IF YOU RELY ON RETARGETING, YOUR PROFITABLE AD ACCOUNTS THAT WERE JUST NEW WINE ARE DYING ON THE VINE.

But all is not lost.

In fact, good direct marketers will absolutely flourish under this new era of internet advertising.

By — strangely — using principles first used in direct mail and print advertising.

And there’s one type of retargeting that nobody’s saying is going away any time soon, and it may just be the secret of success going forward.

Watch today’s video for my thoughts and recommendations for the death of retargeting…
