Why the heck am I telling more and more marketers to STOP writing “like a copywriter?”

This came up yet again after I published yesterday’s video on Writing Copy in your Client’s Voice.

It’s come up again and again when I do copy reviews.

And if there’s one big piece of advice I know I’m just going to have to keep telling novice copywriters over and over again…   It’s this.

Stop writing like a copywriter!

But what does that even mean?

I’ve been involved in direct response marketing — as a copywriter — since 2005.

It’s been my primary business and source of income since 2010, writing direct response copy for clients.

I’ve built a training business that, in part, teaches copywriters how to write copy.

And so you’d think I’d be one of the last people telling you to stop writing like a copywriter.

But, as usual, the devil is in the details.

I created today’s video issue of Breakthrough Marketing Secrets to fully explain what I mean when I say “stop writing like a copywriter.”

If you truly take this to heart, I believe it will make your copywriting connect better than ever before with your target audience.  It will be transformative.  It will be a breakthrough.

Yours for bigger breakthroughs,

Roy Furr
