This One Big Idea is why I can ask for $20,000 per project as a copywriter…
It’s why my per-project fee has multiplied 10X since I launched my freelance copywriting business in 2010.
And it’s something you can use to get paid more, before you write a word of copy.
The idea is from the book Pitch Anything by Oren Klaff (available in audiobook and hardcover).
And it’s arguably one of the most fundamental perspective shifts that can completely change how you look at selling itself, and the results you get.
I’d be curious to know if you’ve applied this, and how it’s helped you achieve sales breakthroughs.
Yours for bigger breakthroughs,
Roy Furr
Hi Roy
I recently read the book … I love everything about it…the new approach to sales… communicating the sales message to the croc brain … everything.
just one question, though, do you think it's good to use ideas like prize framing and withdraw from the prospect in a sales letter?
P.S. I'm an in-house copywriter and I live in Iran… I've started learning and practicing copywriting about 2 years ago and since then I've tried to lay my hands on every great material I can get, I've studied masters like Hopkins, Schwartz, Schwab, Caples, Halbert, Carlton, Makepeace…and I love sources like your blog that provide new and fresh approaches to copywriting!
anyway thanks for your time and effort – keep up the good work, man 😉
Adel,
Welcome! Yes, I absolutely believe prize framing and withdraw from the prospect can be used in sales letters.
Prize framing: I don't need your money. But I believe that if you invest in this product, you're going to be absolutely blown away by how your life changes for the better. So whether or not I need your money, it's in YOUR best interests to give it to me.
Withrdrawing: This may not be right for you if… OR You can decide if you want to move forward with this or not, but it goes away at midnight. With or without you.
These are really quick sketches/ideas. But I think you get the point.
Thanks for reading and commenting!
