This is absolutely crazy…

And it’s something I’ve had to keep top-secret, until now.

I landed a cameo in a just-released music video — about copywriting and marketing — alongside many of my greatest heroes.

And so instead of a normal BTMS issue, or even one of my “new standard” Video Friday issues where I dish…

I wanted to share this.

NOTE: There are actually many layers to this onion…

(And no, Nader, I’m not saying the song stinks — in fact, I rather enjoy it!)

You can watch this video on a few levels…

1. It’s silly and fun and a great way to spend a couple minutes late on a Friday…
2. You get to see us crazy marketers doing a lot of silly things…
3. It’s actually an incredible lesson into who is influential — past and present — in direct response marketing and copywriting… (You could study the lyrics for days for this one aspect alone.)

Maybe it’s just because I’m so much of a direct response geek — but I really like the history lesson packed into every verse.

I know Titans was a big deal and all, but I still can’t believe my name got worked into those lyrics alongside so many others who I’ve studied and considered heroes throughout my career.
