Ok so when you began to explain the Apple unboxing experience I took a moment to think about the unboxing experience I have had with other products…I thought about the unboxing of a droid tablet, a tv, a dyson vacuum, and a laptop…I then realized how true what you are saying is!! Different years – it’s almost like it’s so substantial of a package that you keep it like you keep your phone – it almost feels “wrong” throwing it out and even like “where do I throw it, recycling or regular trash ?!?” …. with that said it means apple’s entire experience eludes like a sort of “forever in your life” aura…always top of mind, an integrated necessity of our life now and in the future…that’s why this was real for me, especially on introspection!! I recently bought some Lenovo pc’s and their boxes are cool and I’m keeping those too…competing against Apple laptops would require matching their level of packaging and it makes sense theirs do!!
