Okay, you’ve found copywriting — now what?

What should you learn?

What books should you read?

Where should you focus your studies?

Are there any guiding principles for getting started?

That’s the question I answered in today’s video…

Hi Roy,

During this COVID-19 pandemic, I have spent a great amount of time evaluating and reevaluating my life and where I want to go from here.

I keep seeing ‘Copywriting’ every where I turn, like making me do double, triple takes, so I’m taking it as a sign and diving in to a brand new endeavor!

I am at the barely getting my feet wet stage, have a couple of courses I’m considering, and just came across your website.

I guess my main question would be, where do you suggest I start?

Thank you!

Scarlett

Here’s the short answer…

My first recommendation is to read the best copywriting books.

Find the common teachings across them.  Integrate them into your own approach.

My second recommendation is to make sure you follow one of my most important recommendations: write copy that’s close to the sale.  (This is from my book, The Copywriter’s Guide to Getting Paid.)

More on both of these recommendations plus additional tips scattered throughout today’s video…

Watch now.

Yours for bigger breakthroughs,

Roy Furr
