I was just reviewing a bunch of testimonial videos, which I plan to publish in the next few days…
They are of people who invested in copy reviews and coaching from me, about their experience…
— I helped Patrick turn a rough draft into a $1MM+-in-75-days acquisition promo.
— I made one throwaway recommendation that helped Shiv get 8,300% ROI on his copy review investment.

But as I was reviewing them and taking notes and writing descriptions, something jumped out at me.
These are all people who invest in themselves — even when times are hard…
I was also reminded of the time the big, burly, bear of a copywriter Dan Meredith cornered me at The Titans of Direct Response.
He just wanted to shake the hand of the copywriter who got him to spend thousands of dollars he didn’t have on what he called his “AMEX gamble.”
He swore he was going to find a way to pay off coming to Titans before the bill came due — and he did.
Today, Dan is a top-selling author and has a multi-six-figures (or bigger) copywriting and coaching business, built around his Coffee With Dan Facebook group.
I also remember how my first big investment in myself was very much the same.
I invested in myself when I couldn’t afford for it to not pay itself back.
And because I put that skin in the game, I found a way to make it pay back many, many times over.
So many high achievers have the same story…
It doesn’t matter if times are good are bad…
It doesn’t matter if they’re rolling in it, or scraping together their last few pennies….
They find opportunities to invest in themselves.
And then, they make it pay.
